#Climate in Belize
Belize has a hot and humid subtropical climate and the average temperature is 27 °C (80 °F).
The temperature of the sea varies throughout the year between 26 °C to 30 °C.
There are few variations in climate throughout the year.
Life in Belize revolves around two seasons : the dry season that stretches from January to May, and the rainy season that goes from July to November (with an increase in rain in November).
During the dry season : moderate rain and pleasant temperatures.
March is the driest month of the year.
During the rainy season: hot and humid weather and rain that is sometimes heavy. The rainy season (July to November) can sometimes bring hurricanes and floods. Rain is generally more heavy in the South than in the North.
If the atmosphere can be suffocating on the inside of the land, islands however enjoy fresh air thanks to the tropical breeze.
When to visit Belize ?
The best time to visit Belize is the dry season that lasts from mid-December to May.
Aside of the advantages offered by the weather at this time of the year, you will be able to fully enjoy festivals and other events such as the carnival.

Belize has three time zones with a 7 to 9 hours difference with Europe.
- UK, Portugal, Ireland : GMT -7
- Germany, Italy, Belgium, Netherlands, Sweden, Spain: GMT -8
- Finland, Estonia, Greece: GMT -9
* France : since Daylight Saving Time applies there, time difference between Belize and France is not the same in summer or winter.
GMT – 8 hours in summer / GMT – 7 in winter (12:00pm in Belize = 20:00pm in France)
