Cayes & Atolls

The Belize has the longest reef in the Western hemisphere. Spreading over 322 km, it offers a myriad of islands, islets and atolls. Some sites have been registered in UNESCO’s list of World Heritage Sites.

Those islands or islets called Cayes in Belize can be private and inhabited. Some big groups in the luxury hotel industry seized this opportunity to build dream resorts there.

The biggest and most famous Cayes are Ambergis Caye and Caye Caulker.

Scuba-diving, snorkeling, fishing, recreational sailing, sea-kayaking : it’s up to you to choose your activities.

The northern part is still quite wild and offers an abundance of birds and other animals.

It is an ideal base for many water activities such as scuba diving and snorkeling.

Other activities include water sports, bird watching, fishing and (highly recommended) lounging.

At night, why not camp on the coast, to feast on the view of the sunset and then gaze at the stars.

For the most fearless among you, this lagoon is surrounded by abrupt seafalls going from 12 to 790 m, which enable diving in wrecks and give you the opportunity to meet tiger sharks (Sharkpoint site).
